by Elle Collections |
| |
Balmainia: The French Fashion House goes universal thanks to it’s Rock ‘n Roll edge and must-have glamour.
It’s hard to think of another label that’s had such an influence of late. Balmain has defined fashion for the past two season’s – on every level, from the front row to the red carpet to the high street. Editors, pop stars, even Michael Jackson… Everybody loves creative director Christophe Decarnin’s glitzy, glamourous rock-chic look.

| Balmain spring/summer collection 2010 |
| |

Christophe Decarnin, the designer at Balmain, who launched this winter’s craze for ripped and torn jeans for €2000 and strong-shouldered military jackets, emblazoned with crystals, with a price tag of up to €7000 is at it again.
For next season, the rock ‘n’ roll designer has army surplus in his sights.
His spring/summer 2010 collection, featuring catwalk stars such as Carmen Kass and Daria Werbowy, was a cross between Tina Turner in 1985’s ‘Thunderdome’, and the kind of distressed, old military cast-offs you might find in a second-hand store, mixed in with a hint of Raquel Welch in One Million Years BC. |
